Client: York Coffee Emporium (YCE)
Date: 12th June 2017
York Coffee Emporium are an independent artisan operation, providing customers with the perfect cup of coffee. They also provide speciality teas and luxury hot chocolates. We started working with York Coffee Emporium in October 2016 as they wanted to increase orders and revenue.
We started by understanding their audience and competitors and we conducted a whole research landscape so that we could really get a feel for what they wanted. The team at Agency51 provided a conversion optimisation audit, covering both the York Coffee Emporium website and also several of their competitors.
We decided that a dedicated PPC project would be the best option to increase orders and improve revenue. After reviewing their current Google AdWords account, a new structure was implemented which involved retargeting as well as new campaigns specifically designed for converting low ranking terms.
We made a series of recommendations to YCE with the aim of bringing them more into line with the current marketplace. Agency51 completed a user journey audit for the YCE website and some of their competitors to see how they varied and which ones used the best techniques for optimising conversions. The performance of Google Shopping was also observed and we invested time into improving the feed data. This included adding descriptions with the intention of optimising the site.
Since work began with York Coffee Emporium, we’ve seen Google Shopping orders increase by 22% and there’s been a 15% increase in transactions overall by using the same budget as previous years. As for retargeting, there’s been a positive response by simply encouraging none-converters to convert within 14 days of first visiting the website.
We continue to work with York Coffee Emporium today and we’re proud to help such a committed business.
